This soap has note of the Italian liqueur Limoncello, as well as fig, cranberry, and hibiscus. Named after the Roman goddess Pomona who is associated with fruit tress and gardens. This is the perfect soap for spring with its sweet and fresh scent. Although the Romans dedicated August 13th to Pomona, we are celebrating her early, we just couldn't wait!
The goddess Pomona is from the Roman pantheon and unlike many other Roman deities, there is no Greek deity counterpart for Pomona. Her name comes from the Latin word for orchard fruit, and she is often depicted as carrying a basket of fruit and a pruning knife. This wood nymph goddess was tricked by Vertumnus into marrying him after he shape shifted into a wise old woman who persuaded Pomona to marry him. She is known as the goddess of abundance and is typically celebrated in late summer or early autumn.
